If you remove points for building sg/disp then you risk removing a class entirely from the game for the competition - Why would anyone want to play an engie if they KNOW for sure 100% they will never get the cash?
Maybe a better solution is to:
a) Randomize teams at the start of the game.
b) Fix teams after randomize so they're stuck together for remainder of the time
c) Winning team's top X make up the winning players.
d) Considering user turnout on Saturday and the previous competition, perhaps scrim-rule class limits apply? Or even Highlander? (1 of each class max)
This will:
a) Actually cause people to play the map instead of spawn camping *pout at aur for spawn camping till he sian to leave spawn room* :P
b) Give incentives to play other classes which you may be better at.

Another alternative is to perhaps award prizes based on people with the most points in skill for each class - So you've got 9 classes already for 9 of the $50, and the 10th goes to, say, maybe the number 1 player?
This will:
a) Once again give incentives to players to stop spamming engie/medic/solly
b) Play "properly"

Oh, so you expect a scout who comes from A to B in gravelpit to just run pass your obvious teleporter positions (at the entrance of the corridor to B from C)? And you also expect a scout to go upfront against soldiers and medic? And i don't think i destroyed any of your sentry.
So don't include me in your nonsense please. No point for you to try to push the blame around, an exploit is an exploit.

Well nobody force you to do it right, is you yourself want to do it, any enemy could have destroy your buildings, so dun just blame it on spud or cock for giving you the damn idea.GOT BALLS Farm Points this way den Face up.

randomizing the teams is horrible. highlander/class restrictions doesnt apply to pubs.
the current system is fine as it is, just need to nerf the exploited points

I personally thought that the HLstats were the only sure way to go, and we can only really depend on the integrity on the player to prevent situations like these.
But after seeing Jara's post... I think that could actually work out.
We might be on to something here, but we really need to come to consensus, maybe not now since the tour is already in motion but perhaps for future similar events?

how many engies kill with their shotty vs say their wrench or a good sg placement?

@Dome: Think thrice before posting.
@Rest: Its a "exploit" that almost everyone knows, don't blame him just because he did it more than others. Take it as a experience and hope that for the next event, better scoring/award system will be used instead of the current one.
It's an event meant to be fun and promote TF2. I believe you guys enjoyed yourself during the event. That is the most important thing, not how he got his points.

I didn't go for this one at Chambers but I went for the first one. It was only a matter of time before this points farming thing surfaced.
HLStatsX is not exactly a good way of measuring skill. You can get an enemy spy to keep sapping your buildings while you removed it.
I think the points distribution should be looked at at the next event.

hi guys,
i've informed andeelym about the probable solutions to the hlstatsx to prevent such dispute. if you want to know what i included in the email, here it is.
change all bonus points for construction of sentry/dispenser from 5 to 1.
EDIT: IGNORE THIS >> (change all bonus points for unbercharge of medic from 5 to 3.)
the next stop for the tf2 singapore tour will be this saturday at crossfire. more information to come soon.

Good idea.
1point is reasonable. (maybe engy can get 1bonus point for each enemy he kills with his shotgun, to cover up for the points in building)
